Union Civil Aviation Minister Mr Ram Mohan Naidu shared in a Social Media post: Today – 18th July 2026, at Vijayawada Airport, inaugurated the new Air Traffic Control (ATC) Services Building, constructed at a cost of around ₹77 crore. Following the inauguration, under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative of PM Shri Narendra Modi
ji, planted saplings in front of the new ATC Services Building.
Later conducted a comprehensive field inspection of the upcoming Vijayawada Airport terminal. Reviewed the progress of construction across various sections and directed officials and contractors to incorporate the highest standards of design while reflecting the ethos of our Capital Region.
Also reviewed the airport’s landscaping plan and suggested measures to create a world-class, passenger-friendly experience from arrival to departure.
Committed to building a world-class airport terminal in line with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri N Chandrababu Naidu Garu’s vision of a Connected Andhra Pradesh, the new Vijayawada Airport will serve as the Gateway to Amaravati, fulfilling the aspirations of the people of the region, the Union Minister said.
