Union Minister Piyush Goyal has announced a massive relief for India’s sports ecosystem! All intellectual property registrations related to sports including trademarks, patents, copyrights, designs, GI tags and more will be FREE for 3 years with immediate effect.

This major decision will benefit startups, innovators, students, athletes, sports brands, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs across India. The announcement was made on World Intellectual Property Day in New Delhi.

The minister also promoted Kashmir Willow cricket bats, sports manufacturing hubs in Jammu & Kashmir and Meerut, India’s 2036 Olympics bid, sports innovation, smart wearables hackathon, and growth of sports business in India.
