At Ran-Samwad 2025, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced a historic milestone— the Indian Air Force will soon take to the skies with jet engines fully designed and manufactured in India. This breakthrough ensures India will no longer rely on foreign suppliers for the very core of its fighter jets.

Defence Minister underlined that the nation is moving swiftly towards fifth-generation fighters powered by indigenous technology—an aspiration once seen as unattainable. The results of Atmanirbhar Bharat are evident: defence production has risen from ₹46,000 crore in 2014 to over ₹1.5 lakh crore today, while exports have touched ₹24,000 crore.

From Tejas fighters to Akash missiles, from ATAGS artillery to the Indigenous Aircraft Carrier—India has already demonstrated its defence might. With indigenous jet engine technology now in sight, India is poised to enter the elite league of global airpower leaders:
