Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually participates in Sikkim@50 programme marking 50 glorious years of Statehood :

Today is a special day — as we are celebrating the Golden Jubilee of Sikkim’s journey as a part of the Republic of India.

I had truly hoped to be a part of the celebrations commemorating 50 years of this historic journey. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions, I am unable to be present with you in person.

Known for its serenity and enterprising people, the state has made remarkable strides across various sectors.

Over the past decade, our government has placed the Northeast at the core of India’s development journey. We are advancing the ‘Act East’ policy with the spirit of ‘Act Fast’
