Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has dismissed rumours of a fuel shortage in India amid rising tensions in West Asia.

He stated that India currently has:

  • 60 days of crude oil reserves
  • 60 days of LNG reserves
  • 45 days of LPG reserves

The government also increased daily LPG production from 35,000 tons to 54,000 tons to ensure uninterrupted supply across the country.

Under “Operation Urja Suraksha”, India activated a nationwide energy security mechanism to strengthen fuel availability, expand PNG connections, and prevent any disruption in petrol, diesel, or LPG supply.

Hardeep Puri said India’s energy sector remains “fully secure and robust” and urged people not to believe rumours or panic about fuel shortages.

Watch the full update on India’s fuel reserves, LPG production boost, and the government’s response to the energy situation.
