The state government has taken very seriously the incident in which miscreants mixed pesticide into the drinking water tank of the government primary school in Hoovinakone, Hosanagar taluk, Shivamogga district.

It is my belief that this act, with the malicious intent of causing a massacre of dozens of young children, is no less than any terrorist act.

Due to the timely alertness of the kitchen staff, a major tragedy that could have occurred has been averted. I congratulate the school’s kitchen staff.

I have instructed the police to conduct a proper investigation into the incident, identify the culprits who committed this act, and ensure they receive stringent punishment.

The mindset of mixing poison in drinking water shows the degradation of humanity among us. Everyone needs to introspect about this:
