Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah holds direct discussions with people associated with the cooperative sector at from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan on the occasion of the International Cooperative Year.
Speaking at SahkarSamvaad, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said ‘When I was born, water for bathing was available only once a week in Banaskantha. Banaskantha and Kutch faced severe water scarcity, and today, a family here earns one crore rupees a year from milk. This is a huge thing, this is a massive change’.
The Government of India will procure maize and pulses at 100% MSP (Minimum Support Price), but only if you register on the portal/app. Even if the market price of maize falls, the government will still procure at 100% MSP.
All maize and pulse farmers should register themselves on the official app of the Government of India. This will ensure that if market prices fall, the government will still purchase your produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). And if market prices rise, you are free to sell your produce in the open market. This way, farmers benefit in every situation. Under a new scheme, the Government of India will also distribute agricultural machinery to PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies).
PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies) should engage in multiple activities to maximise their impact. For instance, the maintenance of Har Ghar Nal Yojana can be managed by PACS. They can also function as Bank Mitras. The Government of India has notified around 25 such small business activities that PACS can undertake. To explore more, visit the official website of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India.
The bylaws of PACS are designed to strengthen them. I urge you to understand the bylaws with the help of the District Cooperative Bank Inspector assigned to your PACS — they have been trained for this purpose. This understanding will help you introduce new activities, reduce expenses, and maximise profits effectively.
