The National Disaster Mitigation Centre and Yatri Niwas, constructed under the CSR initiative of ONGC in Baltal, J&K, and set to be dedicated to the nation tomorrow for the service of pilgrims, is not just a structure but a symbol of our resolve, our culture, and the sensitivity of the Modi government.
PM Narendra Modi ji has taken numerous initiatives to make the Amarnath pilgrimage simpler, safer, and more accessible.
The construction of this building is a part of those efforts.
Here, pilgrims are provided with accommodation, food, first aid, and better travel facilities. The Disaster Management Centre will expedite relief and rescue operations during any disaster or emergency situation during the pilgrimage.
It will ensure the safety of pilgrims through effective coordination.
ONGC is also constructing three more Yatri Niwas and Disaster Management Centres in Nunwan, Bijbehara, and Sidhra, which will soon be ready to serve pilgrims:
