Weather Forecasting in India Gets a Major Boost!

Union Minister DrJitendra Singh reviews Mission Mausam and IMD’s key projects, pushing for real-time, impact-based forecasting across India.

With 73 Doppler Radars operational by 2025-26 and 126 by 2026, India is set to revolutionise its weather monitoring system, improving disaster response and saving lives.

He also directed IMD to enhance public outreach via social media and mobile apps like Mausam, Meghdoot, and UMANG, so that weather alerts reach every citizen, faster.
