How the Modi government fortified India’s Air Defence and offensive capabilities:
Following #OperationSindoor, which destroyed nine terrorist camps across Pakistan, India successfully intercepted all retaliatory missile strikes from Pakistan, showcasing its robust air defense system. This capability is the result of 11 years of strategic investment under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Key components of India’s aerial defense include the S-400 Triumf systems, Barak-8 MR-SAMs, Akash missiles, DRDO anti-drone tech, and the Integrated Counter-UAS Grid. Offensive capabilities were also highlighted, with precision strikes destroying Pakistani air defense units and radar infrastructure.
Since 2014, India has significantly upgraded its defense architecture, acquiring advanced missile systems, deploying counter-drone technologies, and manufacturing loitering munitions and Harop drones domestically. The coordinated deployment of these systems in Operation Sindoor marked a turning point in India’s ability to dominate its airspace. The operation reinforced India’s global reputation as a technologically advanced military power capable of defending and asserting its interests with precision.
