Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge writes to PM Modi regarding the caste census to be conducted by the Centre. Mallikarjun Kharge has offered three significant suggestions on the issue.

1. The Centre should replicate the Telangana Govt’s methodology of conducting the census, so that the true socio-economic picture is captured,

2. ⁠Inclusion of all the state-level laws breaching the 50% limit on reservation into the 9th Schedule of the Constitution, and

3. ⁠Extending reservations for SC, ST and OBCs to private educational institutions.
